ACADEMICS
Mission & Vision
Bible Believers Christian School partners with believing families:
- To teach their children to think biblically
- To live with integrity
- To glorify God in their life callings
Our passion is to help children develop their God-given gifts for God’s glory. At BBCS, students learn in a conventional classroom setting. Teachers use both Christian textbooks and hands-on activities to create engaging lessons. Our academic curriculum includes lessons in Art, Music, Drama, Physical Education, and Computer Literacy. Students in junior high and high school also have the option to learn the Culinary Arts, 3D Printing, and Basic Entrepreneurship, as well as various online elective offerings.
Complete Education
Think Biblically
When words lose their meaning, people lose their liberties. As fuzzy-sounding woke ideas take over society, it’s important for students to do more than memorize bold-faced terms and regurgitate them for quizzes and tests. Our goal is that students learn to think, not only critically but also biblically. Thinking biblically means to dig past slogans to assumptions, going past how soundbites make you feel to what they actually mean. As students learn to judge real-world ideas in the light of God’s Word, their appreciation for the relevancy and value of biblical truth only grows.
A Rich Curriculum
BBCS uses resources from both BJU Press and Abeka Books, as well as online elective offerings in the high school. Classes are more than textbooks, worksheets and tests. Teachers emphasize hands-on activities where appropriate to engage all learners, and to make learning both memorable and fun! Each winter, we partner with the YMCA to bring Lego League classes to our elementary classrooms. Students also learn age appropriate computer skills with their Chromebooks. Classes go on field trips at multiple times throughout the year. In grades 9-12, these yearly field trips feature such history-rich destinations as Philadelphia, Boston, and Washington DC. Each spring, students take the Iowa Test of Basic Skills, and BBCS scores regularly above the 70th percentile.
Fine Arts & Productions
In addition to Reading, ‘Riting, and ‘Rithmetic, students take lessons in both Art and Music. This work in the fine arts comes to its climax in yearly dramatic productions. These dramas are an important chance for students to step out of their comfort zone, as they learn both public speaking and acting. On the stage, students are developing their gifts for God’s glory. You can enjoy past student dramas at this link.
Physical Education
A variety of important skills are learned in gym class! Teamwork. Sportsmanship. Playing by the rules. Both winning and losing with grace. In Physical Education, students learn these skills as they practice and compete in games and sporting events, from nitro ball to volleyball to archery!
